A wonderful February

If I can get through February a lot has been accomplished. With valentines day, my wife's birthday and 2 of my daughters birthdays it keeps me on my toes. I'm finishing another round of chemo and I'm glad to be still taking it. I had a long talk with my Onclogist and nobody knows how long to leave people on it as most are not alive by now. We decided to stay on it as I'm tolerating it okay and the prayers are enabling everything to be in remission and someday want to hear the words cured. I believe that the Lord has already done that but is still doing a major work in my life. I still believe UCLA will open up so please pray for continued healing and the right paths to open. Thanks so much. Dr jim and family

A year of grace

A year ago today I was heading for my second brain surgery this time at UCLA a long way from home but thank goodness my wife and daughter were with me. The day before two miracles occured. I had been invited to this church in Norman, Okla to meet some people from the,Los Angeles area whose church wanted to pray for me while I was in the UCLA area. It just so happened that the pastor of that church was present and I met him and made arrangements to visit their church before surgery. Sunday we rented a car and visited and had the deacons pray over me; that was so comforting to have a local church praying for you It was a special time. That afternoon my wife lost her cell phone which was to be our main means of communicating to everyone. Early the next day it was found by a kind soul who scrolled through the contacts and happened to dial my office manager who told him my hotel and he brought the phone to us. What a Godsend and a complete reassurance that if the Lord cared about our cell phone and communication and arranged a church there how could I be concerned about the surgery. It was so comforting to feel the hand of the Lord on your shoulder. This year has been the greatest learning year of my life in spiritual battles. Praise the Lord reguardless.

Feb 12 some good news

After the setlement we had some peace and in a fews day had another MRI of my brain. I have a cavity from the surgery but I've been told I'm a airhead before. The real news this is no different and no evidence of tumor. So far we are in a good remission so we need another good year to have less chance of reoccurance. Please keep me on your prayer list it is so important and special to me. I am so touched by all the expressions of love. May daughter Kerry arrive tonight from Seattle so the week is extra special and we don't have to go to court. God's grace is so real. Love Jim and Linda and girls

The First Battle is over

We were called to urgent settlement conference by the judge who demanded the parties come together one more time. This time after nerves and sweat and a lot of prayer we agreed to a settlement to end the stress, the long drag out process, and continued risk of greater expenses plus the judge had thrown out some of our issues. So we sighed an agreement and now we feel some peace even though we didn't get much. One has to believe it is just what the LOrd ordered. All my family is relieved so they don't have tgo go tgo court so now we can focus on what is really important the task of healing, time with my family and ministry. Thanks for all the support and prayers. I still need healing as this is the most important and I have an MRI tomorrow Feb 9. It is a little nerve reacking in that tight tube and awaiting the results. Pray for continued healing and peace for my family and comfort. I also get a opportunity to give a testimony to the Lord's miracle tomorrow night at church. God bless all of you and may the Lord draw close and be gracious to you.
